McCullough Electric Company
First 100 Years
McCullough Electric was founded in Pittsburgh in 1904, by W.T. McCullough, father of C.
Hax and grandfather of George R., the current president. Our horse "Chester"
powered our delivery wagon.
It was chartered to generate electrical power and supply equipment! Power was never
generated, but it has sold equipment ever since.
The company has survived: World War I, a devastating fire on Easter 1927, the Great
Depression, the Flood of 1936, and the hardships of World War
II.
Born in "The Age of Electricity", McCullough has served industry from the gritty
smoke filled skies of Pittsburgh (the Arsenal of Democracy) to the Age of Automation.
Today,
McCullough Electric specializes in supplying industrial companies and original equipment
manufactures. It has stocked many of the same premier lines for decades. It has
featured Square D it's largest line, for nearly 100 years. What began with fuses and
switches are now predominately control centers, crane control, drives, and Modicon PLC's.
Tomorrow
with it's automation expertise, computer systems. and marketplace acceptance. McCullough
is positioned to move forward. Our people make McCullough the best in the industry. They
are highly trained, experienced in the products, and dedicated to increasing value added
to our customers.
